Before you can compete in the Push and Place Challenge, you first need to learn about different types of manipulators, and how to design an effective manipulator for your robot to move different types of objects, like rings and Buckyballs, to different locations, like a flat or raised platform. 


A manipulator is a mechanism designed to manipulate an object in order to accomplish a task.
