In this Rethink challenge, students will rate their baseline attitudes towards robotics. Instruct students to document their answers to the survey on this page in their engineering notebook . As students work through the survey, circle the room and answer any questions as they arise.

Throughout the course of the V5 Workcell STEM Labs, you will learn about concepts related to industrial robotics and their application in everyday life. For this Rethink activity, you will take a survey to inventory your attitudes about robotics.

Follow these steps to complete the activity:

  • Record all answers in your Engineering Notebook. Keep these for reference to see how your attitudes change throughout the course.
  • Rate each question from 1-5
    • 1: Strongly Disagree
    • 2: Somewhat Disagree
    • 3: Neutral
    • 4: Somewhat Agree
    • 5: Strongly Agree
  • Remember that there is no right or wrong answer for each question.

  • If desired, print out the survey questions before class and have students secure the page into their engineering notebook.
  • If desired, create an online survey creator (like Survey Monkey, Google Forms, etc) to create a version of this survey and collect data.
  • Remind students that there are no right or wrong answers for this survey.
