Introduction
Now that you have completed Units 1-8 of the Introduction to the 6-Axis Arm Course, you are ready to complete the Capstone! Throughout this course you have learned many different things about industrial robotics, including:
- How to use a Teach Pendant with the 6-Axis Arm.
- How to use end effectors, like the Magnet and Pen.
- How to implement Palletization and its role in manufacturing and logistics.
You also learned various coding concepts, including:
- Variables.
- Loops.
- Conditionals.
In this Capstone Challenge, you will apply your learning and skills developed throughout the course in order to pack and ship orders in a warehouse!
Welcome to the Pack and Ship Challenge!
Watch the video below for an introduction to the Pack and Ship Challenge.
Engineering Design Process
To complete this open-ended challenge, you will use the engineering design process. This framework for problem solving is made up of three steps:
- Define the Problem
- Develop Solutions
- Optimize
Watch the video below to learn more about the engineering design process and how you will use it throughout the challenge.
Add the following prompts from the video to your engineering notebook for reference throughout the challenge. Remember, you will move between the steps in the engineering design process many times during the challenge.
