Have each group share their “Calm Down Codes”. Students should first explain the calm down strategies they chose to include in their code, and then explaining what Coder cards they chose and why. Students should start their projects to share with the class, and can demonstrate their “Calm Down Codes” alongside their robots as the project runs.
- If time allows, have groups teach their Calm Down Code to the class, so that everyone can practice the calm down strategies together.

Digital Documentation
Take photos or videos of students acting out their “Calm Down Codes” alongside their 123 Robots. Send these videos to your classroom community to show how the students coded their “Calm Down Codes” for their 123 Robots, and how they are practicing calm down strategies.
Student-Driven Visible Thinking
Encourage students to notice times throughout the school day or week when they used their “Calm Down Codes”. Have them keep track of them in a notebook or journal, and share about them at the end of the week.
Metacognition-Reflecting Together
- How did creating your “Calm Down Code” for the 123 Robot help you to practice strategies for calming down?
- What kinds of compromises did you have to make in your groups while you were creating your “Calm Down Code”? What disagreements did you have, and how did you solve them?
- What was challenging about linking human actions to robot behaviors? What was easy? Why?
